Small Group Sessions


Wednesday skills with Obed Compean -  Head coach of the Nashville Metros PDL team, Ben Fisher - ex professional player and college coach, Mark Foster – UEFA B license coach,


This program will aim to supplement existing training by providing training for those players looking to improve the technical aspects of their game, moves to beat players an change direction and touch on the ball.  Coach Compean will be coaching sound fundamentals and applicable skills, as well as aerobic and anaerobic fitness with a ball.

 

Sessions will take place at Drakes Creek Park Field # 4

U9 - U12  6-7.15p.m.

U13 - U18  7.15-8.30 p.m.

Obed Compean,  A Dallas native, Obed has played soccer for over twenty years and has coached youth teams in the Nashville area for the past eight  years, including teams with the Harpeth Futbol Club in Bellevue, the Stones River Futbol Club in Smyrna and the Cobra Soccer Club in the Mt. Juliet area. He was a goalkeeper and goalkeeper coach for the Nashville Metros franchise in 2000 when it played in Franklin as the Tennessee Rhythm. He has been both the head and assistant coach of the Metros PDL team and its director of operations. Obed will be working with the 91, 92 and 94 girls, and oversee and assist with all the high school age groups at TN United.


Coach Ben Fisher
a former Belmont standout Ben Fisher completed three seasons as a full-time assistant coach with the Bruins. Fisher joined the staff after playing in the A-League, one step below Major League Soccer, from 1999-2002. The defender played three seasons 1999-2001 for the Nashville A-League organization becoming the franchise leader in minutes played and suited up for the Cincinnati Riverhawks in 2002. He was actively involved in the Riverhawks’ community relations efforts, making various public appearances as well as participating in youth camps. He also gained coaching experience in 2001 when he led the U-18 Tennessee Football Club and the U-15 Music City Sting. Fisher has also coached the HFC Hurricanes and has been training our teams at TUSC on “Friday’s with the Ironman.”  He has been working with our 94 boys team the 2008-2009 D2 State Champions.

Mark Photivihok was a member of a TN state high school championship team before beginning his college career at Cumberland University. He transfered, finishing his collegiate playing career at NCAA division 1 Belmont University. A local player, Mark has continued to play for the Nashville Metros PDL team as an attacking midfielder, and is now captain of the team. He holds a USSF E license and will be assisting in our Wednesday night skill sessions.


Coach Mark Foster played and coached in Ireland gaining a UEFA B license.  He is currently a Junior at Trevecca University where he has been the team’s top goal scorer the previous two seasons and was voted Freshman of the year in his first season.  Mark has coached in Russia with the Athletes in Action program and has worked with TN United’s Junior Academy program as well as our summer camp program and as an assistant coach at CPA.  Mark is extremely well qualified having completed Irish Football Association certification in, coaching disabled footballers, teaching children fundamentals, child protection in sport, equality in sport, and SAQ.

 


All sessions are paid for by the club and open to all TUSC players
